RESA had the impossible task of managing translators from various factions of warring Balkans, among other duties, RESA leaders and managers performed their duties with skill, sensitivity and professionalism that nobody could call into question. RESA program management skills kept everyone on task and made sure we achieved our mission of providing the Army personnel with solid translating support. This involved thousands of logistical issues, such as making sure our security clearances were current, our flights were correct, our rotations were in line with the programming, and that we had food, clothing and supplies. This also involved sensitive negotiations with translators who openly fought with one another and had personal agendas, given the tragic events in the Balkans. After I left the mission, I stayed in touch with RESA leadership and was amazed to see how thoroughly RESA adapted to the cultures of all of the Balkan people. RESA leadership takes any task seriously and makes sure they understand all of the nuances involved in dealing with factions at war. RESA leadership is not ok with 99%, they give 101% each day! I would welcome the opportunity to work with RESA again.
